What's a transparent specimen?
Transparent specimen is a unique method of biospecimen production, which was first used for scientific research purposes. After the death of the organisms, without destroying the integrity of the organisms, they are preserved in glycerol after being stained and made transparent using a variety of agents, including alcohol, potassium hydroxide, enzymes, and dyes. The structure of each organism is different, and the process of specimen production and the environment and other variables, each person will produce a different specimen, which is why each transparent biological specimen is unique in the world, just like you and me.
Mini-Museum on the Table - Collect your own Museum
The Transparent specimen series collects different kinds of organisms from discarded or secondary catches, exotic species, or dead organisms from the aquaculture industry. Sealyu hopes that these soon-to-be-decommissioned biological remains can be used again, so that their lost lives can have another value.
